I watch(ed) the Watchmen.

AND IT WAS AWESOME.

I have a feeling that people will start showing with this pinned to their shirts, bags or what-have-you.

Zack Snyder is the perfect director for graphic novel adaptations, nuff said.

Watch it, but prepare for a mind-fuck never felt in any superhero - comic book movie ever before.

What, in life, does not deserve celebrating? ----- Indeed.
Never compromise, not even in the face of Armageddon.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got.......

A FUCKING MIDTERM TOMORROW IN CONSTITUTIONAL LAW II?

and yes, I did just watch Trainspotting.

Its too cold. Waking up and getting out of bed has been such a struggle. Don't get me wrong, I love the presko weather, it just makes one too damn lazy. I feel like a bear hibernating. I wish I was one, I'll wake up only when spring arrives. Now wouldn't that feel good?

PUTANGINA GAGO TALAGA ITONG SI RAUL GONZALES

How the hell is this man still a fucking lawyer?? DISBAR HIS FUCKING ASS.

For those of you in the dark:

This post is connected to the recent act of executive clemency extended by the President to Claudio Teehankee Jr.

(to learn more, please click - you will be redirected to a website with a digest of People vs. Claudio Teehankee, Jr., G.R. Nos. 111206-08, 6 October 1995 - many thanks to whoever owns that site)

Anyway, Teehankee murdered Maureen Hultman and Roland Chapman in cold blood back in 1991. She was 16 years old. Casting aside any questions regarding why the President would even want to pardon a sociopath, would it even be correct, nay - classy, to chastise the members of her family, upon international press no less, after suffering such a traumatizing ordeal?

So yes, a resounding FUCK YOU Raul. The lowest circle of Hell awaits. TRY AND APPEAL THAT TO JESUS CHRIST.

I can't wait to say my oath. Hope remains.

The First Reading for the First Game is from the Book of RABEH-lation 31:10

"So it was, upon the clash of the titans. The Green and the Blue were to battle on the hallowed hardwood of the Araneta. Freddie Webb thus spake, 'Animo, I say to you, if we are to succeed, thy team of Pumaren must stop the Rabehlution of Katipunan before its incitement.' His words went unheeded though it was not without foreboding. For upon the 3rd quarter, The Rabehlution was in full swing. 9 strokes from his uncanny jumphook sealed the faith of the Green faction, so it is written. Though Tiuperman found himself in his Foul Trouble of Solitude, Ryan of the Buenafe ignited the Jainamite which thus exploded. It was said that the Rock was denied 7 times around the Hallowed Bastion of the Ateneo basket, with each denial punctuated by the roar of the one named Severino. Though it was that time seemed to have run out on his Casio, Pumaren still could count on the Hard Work of Rico."

"Animo I say to you, do not despair. Though the battle has been 1-0 by the Blue, the Green need not lose hope. War is far from over, with one more battle to commence. Though Destiny himself is unable to foresee the outcome, though it is written on his Book, know full well the many interests riding on this series."

"Never underestimate the Heart of the Champion"
"The coffers shall flow with GOLD, fed by the demons known as the Scalper, thus the Devil himself shall influence said game and allow the possibility that it shall indeed go the distance. They say that his agents are within the game itself, armed only with the whistle (HAHA)"

So ends this chapter from the Book of Rabehlation.

As I was going down the stairs to the dining room for some much needed breakfast, I chanced upon the newspaper right there on the table. I took the banner page and so began my morning ritual of lamenting the state of the Philippine economy and the various political issues. Apparently, the "lumads" want their own juridical entity as well, quite similar to the very controversial MOA between our Government (notice how I use them as the subject, rather than Filipinos in general) and the MILF (no, not the one from your dirty mind, and admittedly more fun kind). To know what a lumad is, I advise you to look elsewhere you shan't find it here.

To try and release myself from this morning habit (which once the ball got rolling, its hard to stop),  I begun my search for the other pages where the Comics are usually included (for the usual fix of some humor from Pol Medina Jr.) Out of my peripheral vision, I glanced upon a very intriguing ad...

"No it cannot be..."

YES FIDDY CENT IS COMIN TO MANILA BITCHEZ WAHAHAHAHAHA

Judging by the venue, it would seem that the organizers have took it upon themselves to judge the audience for this event. And yes, the real "street elements" of Metro Manila, from Tondo to CAA shall converge upon ULTRA, with their sumpaks and paltiks, to jam with gangsta rap's preeminent representative. OH BABY.

Although not quite a fan (I would still rather catch Chris Brown on Oct. 29), the fact that Manila is even included in Fiddy's radar....damn. Being as I'm from the MEAN STREETS of BF myself (yes, with all the gunshots and drive-bys), perhaps I should join in on the fun once Mr. I-Was-Shot-Nine-Times drops in on ULTRA. I shall have to think this through yo. HAHAHA.

REMEMBER THE DATE OCT. 3 at the PhilSports ARENA formerly ULTRA, 50 CENT!!!! (and maybe even dropping by at EMBASSY after, which any foreign act, athlete or musician or wrestler are wont to do)

Who wants to bet they'll be playing IN DA CLUB once he goes there? HAHAHA.

Disclaimer: Please excuse my lack of political correctness, this is my blog after all. hahaha.

27 July 2008 @ 03:44 am

It’s been 2 months since I first started law school, and to say that time flies by fast is an understatement. The past week however has not been as cruel as the weeks previous to it. With the ominous approach of midterms, 1 more week to be exact, some of our professors have seen fit to assume a "rushed approach" to our lessons. Despite this though, enough time (haha) was left for me to enjoy some much needed "me time" which I promptly seized by killing brain cells through alcohol therapy.

I spent most of my free time (if such a thing still exists) through much needed introspection. Here’s what I learned:

  • This is the first time I have felt reservations about becoming a lawyer, due to the ever-increasing stress of school.
  • I take myself to be above petty concerns, bordering on the arrogant, unfortunately. Though I do not apologize for it.
  • I lose focus easily.
  • As humans, we break down when we have nothing left or if we lose the opportunity, to impart new things upon the world at large. All relationships, be it romantic or platonic, requires the exchange of new knowledge and ideas to prosper. The strongest relationships are those which achieve that form of connection, the constant stream of new things between individuals. If you have nothing new to offer, you get nothing new in return. you slowly lose your vitality
  • I like to sing boy band and Disney songs. Oh and RnB oh yeah baby.
  • My tolerance of alcohol has gone significantly lower.

A running account of the weekend (So far at least):

Friday:

The block decided that it would be a good idea to drink a week before the midterms. I obliged, I’m not one to desist from any opportunity to assume inebriety. My blockmates are quite an interesting group to say the least. Four years from now, it is my sincere hope that we would all relish the addition of a J.D after our names. And yes, di ako marunong mang-bola. We gonna run the world once we pass the Bar, so you better get ready. Lets do it again after the midterms. Sa SOUTH naman sana :)

Saturday:

The best people in the world, the BF Monkeys, celebrated some birthdays with a consolidated night at Bellevue. Thanks to Angela, Pin, JV, Enchong “buti na lang mayaman ako” and Nikki, the birthday celebrants. It never ceases to amaze me how I constantly learn new things when I talk to these people, even if topics are as trivial as green (real green) jokes, video games, the next “geek-out” movie or school life. An example of said knowledge: Pick-up lines (not exactly, but in that form)

“Are you a chicken farmer, cause you sure can raise cocks” PROFOUND PARE haha.

Its been roughly 2-3 years I’ve spent with them and I look forward to more! Thanks for the booze. Haha.

*Pictures should be soon once they upload, Ima steal na lang.*

This has gone long enough I suppose, time to sleep. It’s 4:40 AM by the way.

I apologize for some incoherence, I am quite groggy.

Yes, I had a horrible recitation. Scratch that, I had two consecutive horrible ones.

I will not list down all the times I find professors unfair. Neither will I bitch about how hard I studied during my non-existent weekend.
As Tracy McGrady would put it, "This one's all on me."

Bottom line, I read each case (not counting Constantino and David) two - three times. I should have read them 4 times (and David and Constantino too!). I did not study for Persons, instead solely focusing for Consti. "Why am I wrong?" as Sir Mel would put it.

I will not make excuses for the shit effort I pulled earlier. As seen in the video, "No Excuses," a perfect mantra to live by.

After a sudden overexposure to inspirational mumbo-jumbo, ("World gives you lemons, make lemonade!" "A door closes, a window opens.") I choose to pick myself up.

Look out, future recitations. I just got something to prove.

Damn it, "can-do" attitude my ass! Here's to the 60 cases read in less than 2 days.

We shall persevere.

Great men are not great by virtue of their birthright, but rather by the travails he faces through the course of his life. (made this up myself)

Try and try until you succeed.

My loyal readers, feel free to add any more cliche-ish inspirational sayings in the comment. I will need it.

Here's to tomorrow, and the tears it will bring.
